Campus life

Students can seek support from our services at any time during their studies, from when they start out at the university to the moment they leave. All our student services have been created to help students settle in, study in a relaxing environment and enjoy their life as students. Cultural and sporting events and activities are organised all year round to liven up student life at the university’s seven campuses.

Sport

The university’s sports union (SUAPS) offers a choice of more than 80 different activities. Students can also take beginner or advanced courses and participate in all kinds of sporting events and stays organised throughout the year.

Culture

We cannot talk about student life without mentioning our Cultural Events Office and the Maison de l’Université (MdU) venue. Located on the landmark Mont-Saint-Aignan campus, these cultural hubs offer a top-notch programme of events every year: shows, exhibitions, up-and-coming music and dance performances, arts workshops, and more. The Maison de l’Université venue also has a volunteer-run library and rooms for theatre or music rehearsals.

Clubs and societies

We have about 60 different student clubs and societies that contribute to making our campuses lively places thanks to the events they organise. So far, among other things, they have set up a poetry hub, a short film festival, moot court competitions, a support network for international students, a voluntary-run library and a welcome network for disabled students. They receive help from the Bureau de la Vie Etudiante (students’ union) which provides information on all aspects of student life, from accommodation, eating out and transport, to health, social welfare, culture and sport. The whole team actively supports the creation of new clubs and societies.

Disabilities

For students with a disability, the University of Rouen Normandy provides a network of services to support you throughout your studies: Espace Handicap (Espace Michel Serres – Bâtiment 4), the student health and welfare service at the Maison de l’Université, and the regional association Handisup Normandie (Espace Michel Serres – Bâtiment 4).

Student health and welfare

We offer a university health and welfare service specifically aimed at students. If you would like to make an appointment to see a healthcare professional or need specific support, you can go to any of the four health centres spread across three of our campuses (Mont-Saint-Aignan, Evreux, Madrillet).

University Libraries

Students at the University of Rouen Normandy have access to the seven university libraries dotted across our campuses and managed by the central documentation service (Service commun de la documentation – SCD).

This service provides students, lecturers and researchers with access to print and electronic collections, an online information service (Ubib), group or individual training sessions on literature searches and an inter-library lending service.

The staff at all the libraries are qualified and will be happy to help you. Libraries are open long hours from Monday to Saturday.

Language Centre

The language centre (Maison des langues) offers French-as-a-foreign-language classes to help you settle into life at the University of Rouen Normandy, along with other foreign language classes.

  • Diplômes Universitaires d’Etudes Françaises (DUEF) – Intensive French course
  • General French course – French evening classes
